1. Orange You Grateful for Your Mother on Mother’s Day

When it comes to drinks for Mother’s Day brunch, you can’t leave out the mimosa. It’s light, refreshing, and easy to prepare. But this year, what about adding a twist to the standard champagne and orange juice combination by adding a splash of carrot juice?

Here is what you will need to prepare a dynamite carrot and orange mimosa cocktail:

1.5 cups carrot juice
1 cup orange juice
1 bottle (750 mL) sparkling wine or champagne
Mix these three ingredients together and serve in chilled champagne flutes or juice glasses. You can garnish with a delicate orange slice if you wish.

When buying sparkling wine for this recipe, don’t be overly concerned with the price because you will be adding juice for extra flavor. Choose a brut variety for best results.

2. Sangria Makeover – Clerico

Clerico is the South American version of sangria and it makes for the perfect Mother’s Day cocktail. It’s perfect for an outdoor lunch or happy hour on Mother’s Day.

Here are the ingredients for Clerico (makes a large pitcher):
  • 2 bottles dry white wine (sauvignon blanc)
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1 T freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sliced peaches
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup halved seedless grapes
You can mix and match with the fruit as you see fit but be aware that more acidic fruits could change the overall flavor profile of the beverage. Remember that you can get wine, beer, and liquor delivered right to your door. Check it out!

3. Hibiscus Spritz

This recipe is a little more involved than the two above, but it makes a delicious mommy cocktail for Spring or Summer. You can make the hibiscus syrup ahead of time and store it in the fridge for easy access on Mother’s Day.

To make the hibiscus syrup you will need:

1-2 bags of hibiscus tea
1 cup hot water
1 cup sugar
Seep the hibiscus tea into one cup of hot water (about 5-8 minutes) Remove the tea bags and add the sugar stirring until it dissolves.

For the hibiscus spritz, you will need:

3/4 oz hibiscus syrup (from above)
1.5 oz Tanqueray gin
1 cup club soda (more if needed)
Mix the syrup and gin together and finish with club soda. You can use a slice of grapefruit to garnish. Serve over ice if desired.

4. Mama Margarita

This is one of the best Mothers Day drinks out there for the mamas that love their tequila. For this recipe, you will need:
  • 2 cups watermelon (cubed)
  • 2 oz Patron Silver
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau
  • 1/2 lemon (juiced)
  • 4 mint leaves
  • 1-2 slices jalapeño (optional)
First, you’ll need to make the watermelon juice. Blend the watermelon cubes in a blender and strain through a sieve. You can store your watermelon juice for up to 5 days.

When you’re ready to make a margarita, add 1/4 cup of the watermelon juice with the remaining ingredients over ice and shake to combine. If you choose to add jalapeño slices the more you shake the drink, the spicier the margarita will be – so watch out!

If you want to create a spicy salt rim for your watermelon margarita, combine the following ingredients on a shallow plate:
  • 1/4 cup sea salt
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 pinch of granulated sugar
  • Zest from 1 lemon
Wet the rim of the glass with lime juice or water and place the glass upside down into the mixture on the plate. Sip and enjoy responsibly!

What mother doesn’t enjoy a fantastic rosé cocktail? So prepare a few of these for this year’s Mother’s Day gathering! For this rosé cocktail you will need:

  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 tsp elderflower syrup
  • 1.5 tsp rosewater
