No, NFL doesn’t stand for “Nachos for Life” but it might as well after you’ve tasted this loaded recipe that marries zesty ranch beans, tangy lime, and cool dollops of sour cream. But what to drink with nachos? Easy. Cold, crisp, and subtly citrusy — a Mexican-style lager beer like Corona cuts through the deliciously noisy flavors of a bed of nachos. Corona’s subtle honey and malt notes are a smooth pairing to the meat, salt, cheese, and spice of nachos…and since Corona’s been brewed in Mexico since 1925, it practically deserves its own retired jersey.
The heat of Frank’s hot sauce is a perfect foil to the cool, citrusy flavor of Blue Moon beer. Blue Moon is a great crowd-pleaser to have on hand, and if you’re looking for a classic Super Bowl snack, you can’t go wrong with melty, spicy buffalo chicken dip. Salty tortilla chips are also one of the reasons the orange and wheat notes of Blue Moon seem like a natural duo. (You can also use chopped veggies for your dip…Blue Moon goes well with crisp, cool celery and carrots too!)
2-2.5 cups rotisserie chicken, meat chopped
1 block of cream cheese
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1/2 cup of your favorite hot sauce (we like Frank’s hot sauce for that classic heat!)
1/2 cup of your favorite cheese (we recommend cheddar, blue cheese crumbles, or feta!
Chopped green onion
Preheat your oven to 350.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and stir.
Pour into a pie dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.
Top with chopped green onions if you like, or just a shake of dried dill.
Listen, there will probably be a few people at your Super Bowl party who love red wine. So, which red wine is the best for Super Bowl snacks? We could go on and on with a few of our faves, but here’s a no-fail recommendation: Cote du Rhone red blend. Why? Cote du Rhone red blends usually include grape varieties like Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, among others, which gives these wines a rich, full-bodied mouth feel and fruity, elegant flavor. Because they’re a blend, they also tend to appeal to a wide spectrum of wine drinkers, which makes you look like an MVP host. Planning to serve chili? Excellent. Cote du Rhône wine and chili go together like a QB and a wide receiver — you can’t win without both players. We love this Venison Game-Day Chili recipe for its simplicity, layers of flavor, and how quickly it comes together on game day!
Brisk, refreshing hard apple cider is bursting with bubbles and ripe fruit flavor — an ideal pairing for fried jalapeño poppers. Hard cider’s zippy effervescence has a cooling effect on your palate after a hefty bite of cheesy, heat-spiked poppers. Try Angry Orchard, Magners (an Irish favorite), or Woodchuck, and serve it nice and chilled. Super Bowl snacks + hard apple cider = winning.
First, a worthy recipe: Sweet Potato Bites. These sweet potato bites showered in Italian herbs and garlic are like tater tots that grew up and studied abroad in Italy. Now, throw in a bottle of Josh Chardonnay, and you might have your own Super Bowl cheering section. Fruity, hints of peach, a nudge of Oak, and a balanced creaminess suit the crispy, crunchy cheese and subtle sweetness of the potato bites.
Doritos. I mean, it’s a Super Bowl party…You’re gonna have them on the table, so why not drink well with them? If you remember nothing else from this list, remember this handy tip: Sparkling wines and chips are CHEF’s KISS together. Bubbles and salt are always a great pairing, but when zesty Doritos tackle the soft fizz of a semi-sweet, sparkling rose like Stella Rosa rosé…everyone wins.
